Our adventure began in 2017, when we met while thru-hiking the 2190 mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. After completing the trail, we were offered a seasonal position at a hostel in Maine, then known as the Appalachian Trail Lodge. During our time at the hostel, we fell in love with Maine and the services the hostel provided to visitors in the region. This led to the decision to spend the following three years working toward ownership. In 2022, we purchased the hostel and rebranded as Appalachian Trail Hostel & Outfitters.

Opened in 2023, Katahdin Adventure Co. is a dream born from the passion we found while working in Maine. One of the country’s great wilderness areas, the Katahdin and 100 Mile Wilderness region holds some of the most beautiful and rugged landscape to be enjoyed. Our goal is to provide a professional and meaningful trip for anyone that wants to experience what Maine has to offer.

We are both avid long distance backpackers, having both hiked over 6200 miles in wilderness areas across the globe. Long hikes:

• 2017-18: Appalachian Trail - 2190 miles

• 2019: Pacific Crest Trail - 110 miles

• 2021: Arizona Trail - 800 miles

• 2022: Pinhoti Trail - 150 miles

• 2023: Camino de Santiago - 490 mile Frances & 165 mile Portuguese

• 2024: Florida Trail - 1250 miles

Baxter State Park & 100 Mile Wilderness: 500+ miles
